One of this week’s tabloids claims Angelina Jolie has been secretly dating Jared Leto amid her ongoing divorce from Brad Pitt. Gossip Cop can debunk the bogus story. It’s entirely fabricated.
According to Star, however, Jolie has been leaning on her Girl, Interrupted and Alexander co-star, who she’s been wrongly linked to in the past. An alleged insider tells the magazine, “Jared reached out to Angie a few weeks ago about a movie he’s cowriting, which he’d like her to star in, and the pair started spending time together – initially as friends, but things turned romantic after Angie realized she had strong feelings.”
The supposed source further contends that Leto has been “supporting her emotionally, and she says it’s because of him that she’s not broken down.” The questionable tipster adds, “Jared’s practically moved into Angie’s house, and he’s been staying there on and off for the last couple of months.”
The tabloid inadvertently exposes its story as nonsense from the start. The alleged tipster first maintains that Leto “reached out to Angie a few weeks ago,” but then later claims he’s been staying at her house “for the last couple of months.” So, was the actor initially hiding in Jolie’s attic before he decided to reach out?
Still, the seemingly nonexistent source says Jolie’s six kids have seen Leto around the house, but “they just think he’s a good friend” of their mom. The suspicious insider adds, “Angie doesn’t want to put anything else on their plates, but she’s hoping that as soon as the divorce is finalized, they can go public with their relationship.”
Despite the magazine botching the timeframe of its phony article, Gossip Cop still reached out to a source close to Jolie, who assures us the story is false. In fact, several reputable celebrity news outlets have reported that Jolie “has no interest in dating” and is only focused on her six kids. Regardless, we can confirm the actress isn’t in a relationship with Leto.
It’s worth noting, this isn’t the first time Gossip Cop has busted Star for attempting to create a romance between the stars, who haven’t been spotted together since the 2004 premiere of Alexander. We called out the magazine in early 2017 for falsely claiming that Jolie started dating Leto shortly after her separation from Pitt. The magazine’s latest article fails to acknowledge that it already came up with this phony premise nearly two years ago. It wasn’t true then and it’s no more accurate now.
